Voice Translation

Push-to-talk two-way voice translation between two languages.

Voice Translation is the classic push-to-talk mode. Set your two languages, hold the button on your side, speak, and let go — Vavus transcribes, translates, and speaks the result in the other language. Then the other person can do the same on their side.

Top-left arrow. Returns to the Translation Hub.

Source language pill
The language you're speaking. Tap to open the language picker and change it.

Swap languages
The two-arrow icon between the language pills. Swaps source and target instantly.

Target language pill
The language you want to hear back. Tap to change it.

New session
Top-right header icon. Saves the current conversation to History and clears the screen so you can start fresh.

Settings
Top-right gear icon. Opens settings for this mode: which AI engine, voice, auto-play, microphone preference, and more.

Hold to speak (source)
Hold this circular button on your side, speak, and let go. Vavus transcribes what you said, translates it, and plays it in the target language.

Hold to speak (target)
The opposite-side button — for the other person to reply in the target language. Their words get translated back into your language.
