Messages

End-to-end encrypted chat with audio and video calls, plus on-demand translation and summarization.

Messages is Vavus's encrypted chat — text, voice notes, audio and video calls, with optional per-message translation. Conversations are end-to-end encrypted (Signal Protocol).

    All your chats, ordered by latest activity. Click one to open it.

    Back (mobile / narrow view)

    Returns to the conversation list when the chat is taking the full width.

    Audio call

    Starts a 1:1 audio call with this contact.

    Video call

    Starts a 1:1 video call.

    Group audio call

    For group chats — starts an audio call with everyone.

    Group video call

    For group chats — starts a video call with everyone.

    Summarize conversation

    Asks Vavus AI to summarize the chat. Useful for catching up after time away.

    Call history

    Shows past calls in this conversation with timestamps.

    Conversation info

    Opens the right panel with participants, encryption info, retention settings, and danger zone.

    Message input

    Type your message. Supports attachments, voice memos, and on-demand translation.

    Edit message

    Edit a message you sent. Other participants see an "edited" mark.

    Cancel / Save edit

    Discard or save your edit.

    Save retention (Info panel)

    Sets how long messages are kept in this conversation before auto-deleting.
