Languages tab

Pick the source and target language pair that every dictation and translation will use across all three hotkeys.

Both dictation and translation share one language pair — a source (where you start from) and a target (what you translate to). This page is where you set both. The list of available languages depends on which dictation tier you've picked: Medical, for example, only supports four languages.

  1. 1
    Source language card

The language you speak or write in. Click to make this the picker's focus; the list below filters to languages your current dictation tier can transcribe.

  2. 2
    Target language card

The language Vavus translates to. Click to make this the picker's focus; the list below shows every translatable language (over 100).

  3. 3
    Search

Filter the list by name, native name, or BCP-47 code (en, es-MX, zh-Hant, etc).

  4. 4
    Language row

Click any language to set it as the currently-focused source or target. A checkmark confirms the selection.

  5. 5
    Disabled / warning row

Languages that the current dictation tier can't transcribe show greyed out with a warning icon. Switch tier on the Dictation tab if you need one of these as a source.
